Day 1 : MEGEVE - BREGENZ - FUSSEN - REUTTE
We leave Megève at 5 a.m. and travel via Geneva - Fribourg - Bern - Zurich - St Gall . We drive along the end of Lake Constance to BREGENZ, where we stop for lunch.
We then continue along the German Alpine Route ("Deutsche Alpenstrasse") via Wertach, to arrive in FUSSEN at around 4 p.m. We visit Neuschwanstein castle, the home of Mad King Ludwig II of Bavaria, bristling with towers and pinnacles, climbing up to the castle by minibus.
We then continue to the charming Austrian resort of REUTTE on the Bavarian border. Check in to your hotel, dinner.
 
Day 2 : REUTTE - INNSBRUCK - RATTENBERG - ALPBACH - INNSBRUCK
Breakfast at the hotel before leaving for INNSBRUCK, over the Fernpass. The rest of the morning is taken up with a guided tour of the capital of Tyrol: the Belfry, Mariatheresienstrasse, the Golden Roof, the Helblinghaus and the Victory Arch. After lunch we leave for RATTENBERG, one of the oldest towns in the region and a centre for fine glassware; it is known as "Tyrol's Glass Town". Option to visit the crystal workshops and the Museum of Popular Arts and Crafts. Then it's back to INNSBRUCK and your hotel, for dinner and overnight.
 
Day 3 : INNSBRUCK / KRIMML FALLS
After breakfast we leave on a day trip to KRIMML FALLS, travelling via Rattenberg, St Johann and Kitzbühel. Lunch en route. Return to your hotel, dinner and overnight.
 
Day 4 : INNSBRUCK / SIMPLON / MEGEVE
We leave after breakfast for Italy and the Simplon Pass, then back to Megève. Lunch en route. We arrive in the evening.
